Not too long ago I was looking for a change of scene and, frankly, a change as far as my eating options were concerned. I had heard great things from family I had living in Hampton, Virginia so I packed up some things, activated the ADT security Detroit service I had installed and hit the road. When I reached Hampton, I was pleased to note that my source had not been lying about all the great dining to be had and both myself and my stomach were never happier.

A few of the places I visited:

1. Bensi – Who knew that the people of the south could do Italian food so well? I was treated to a lush and inviting atmosphere with all the authentic Italian food I could want.

2. The Taphouse – If all you want is some great beer, fantastic food and exemplary staff then you won’t find better than the Taphouse. I know that I certainly enjoyed myself and the live bands playing were unbelievable.

3. Smitty’s Better Burger – In the end, though, nothing compares to a good old fashioned American burger and I got exactly that at Smitty’s. Barely cost me anything either which was another plus.

Dining out in Hampton Roads offers many options. There are great restaurants to that go along with the super beach atmosphere this town provides.
